Through photos, descriptions and excerpts from his book, Zurski explains this compelling true story from the moment the captain sensed a problem, to the horror of the cries and screams in the night, to the courageous actions of the rescue and recovery workers, and ultimately to the pursuit by law enforcement officials to find truth and justice.

Tremont District Library is excited to offer the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program. The concept is simple. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to read 1000 books (yes, books can be repeated!) before kindergarten. When your child reaches milestones (100 books, 200 books, etc), he or she gets a small reward. Your child’s name will also be put up on our Bookshelf display in the children’s area.
This is a great way to bond with your child and get them on their way to becoming lifelong readers!

Kick-off date for this program is Friday, February 12 at our regularly scheduled lapsit program.
